Jesse RAY
AMGA ROCK GUIDE & Apprentice Alpine Guide // WFR // GSG Guide
Jesse began rock climbing in the lowlands of Virginia at Great Falls bubbling shoreline. Since then, his travels have taken him all over the world and he has been fortunate to climb mountains in the contiguous 48, Alaska, and South America. The thing that drives Jesse are his goals that surround the sport and he is continuously motivated by the people he meets, his partners, and mentorship both given and received.
Jesse has a formal background in education and received a B.S. from Towson University in Secondary Education. His true passion lies in seeing other people grow and learn from the sport. His calm demeanor, intentional instruction, and infectious enthusiasm all convey his stroke for pursuits in the vertical. His favorite place to climb on the planet is in the Eastern Sierra.
While he’s not in the hills, Jesse resides in San Francisco CA with his partner Clare and works at a university outdoor program at San Francisco State University where he oversees leadership development and operations.
