SPLITBOARDING 201 COURSE
WITH WESTON BACKCOUNTRY
Golden State Guiding’s highly anticipated Splitboarding 201 course with our pals over at Weston Backcountry is here!
With the support of Weston Backcountry, and our friends over at Volcom, Golden State Guiding will be rolling out our Splitboarding 201 Course on March 16th in the Mammoth Lakes region! In our Splitboarding 201 course we put you in the driver seat! This one day course is designed with the intention to let our students be the leaders of their day in the field while our professionally trained Splitboard Guides supervise and give critical feedback along the way. Students will be given homework the night before their course and will work together to develop a trip plan for their day out using the appropriate resources given to them. They’ll work as a team to make decisions in the backcountry while mitigating risk in avalanche terrain. They’ll discuss options among themselves and ensure all voices are heard and decisions respected. And last but not least, they’ll have a great time shredding some Eastern Sierra pow while enjoying the process along the way!
The Splitboarding 201 course is an extension of our Split 101 course and is best suited for those who have prior experience splitboarding on their own or have taken a splitboard course, and for those who also possess some formal, recreational avalanche training.
