The West Face of Mount Shasta is a great option for those seeking solitude during an ascent of this iconic mountain. With far less traffic than it’s southwest facing sister, Avalanche Gulch, the West Face of Mount Shasta is a step up in technical climbing and affords any mountaineer with spectacular views and a bit more of a challenge as you ascend the western flanks of Shasta. Just as we do for Avalanche Gulch, we offer a 3 Day Mountaineering Program for those looking to spend more time on the west side of the mountain and take a modest approach or we offer a 2 day Light and Fast Program up the West Face for those in peak physical shape looking to push their limits. We can provide ice axe, harness, helmet, and avalanche equipment when necessary, for any guests looking to climb or ski/ splitboard the West Face of Mount Shasta. All other equipment must be provided by our guests. Please make sure to review the equipment list above for all other equipment needed for your climb on Mount Shasta.
